Based in San Diego, California and Houlton, Maine,
The America Library of Poetry is
dedicated
to the expression of creativity through
writing.
From poetry to short stories, students across
the country now have an outlet and a forum
in which they
may share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Each year The America Library of Poetry,
sponsors writing contests
throughout
The United States of America.
The Student Poetry Contest is for school age children enrolled in
grades 3-12,
including tutored and home schooled children.
Entrants may enter the contest by clicking
here.
Entries from the Student Poetry Contest
are judged in four divisions:
grades 3-5, grades 6-7, grades 8-9, and grades 10-12.
Winners and Runners
Up in each division of the
Student Poetry Contest
will receive a prize and Certificate of
Achievement.
The writer who places first overall receives the Editor's Choice Award.
A select number of writers
may be chosen to be
published in a future compilation,
and as such, will have
the unique opportunity of seeing their poetry in print.
We at The America Library of Poetry take great delight in
seeing
a renewed spark of interest in reading and
writing,
and hopefully, through our support and
recognition of writers everywhere
we will continue
to fan the flames of literacy in America.
